stupid comment about gun laws

Reading on CNN (communist news network) about the 762 murders in Chicago last year.  It's a record!

In the text of the article was this statement:

"Chicago has strict gun laws, which is why many gun rights advocates point to it as evidence that tighter regulation doesn't equal less crime.
But Chicago's gun violence problem is more complicated. Sixty percent of the guns used in shootings were purchased out of state.
"We border Indiana and Wisconsin, which have really lax gun laws," Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said.
"We know that people from Chicago go across the border, fill up gym bags with illegal weapons from gun shows and things of that nature and they come back here and sell them to the gangs."

There are at least a couple of things obviously wrong with the statement.  One, if states surrounding Chicago have so called lax gun laws why don't they have a murder rate equivalent to Chicago?  Two, having been to multiple gun shows in Iowa at cities that border Illinois I've never seen a bag of guns go out the door and buying a gun at the shows always required filling out forms with your i.d.  The shows in Dubuque and Davenport should be hot spots for Illinois buyers but I don't even recall seeing an Illinois licence plate in the parking lot.  I strongly suspect this is just more bull from the incompetent left to deal with a problem that is life style rather than hardware.

A Toronto man has been arrested after illegally crossing the U.S.-Canadian border into Quebec with a bag containing 24 handguns, the RCMP reports.

The man allegedly crossed into Canada near Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Que., on Dec. 23, when he was arrested by the RCMP and discovered with two dozen handguns of various calibers, including ten that were loaded.

that was

Nothing in that report says the embarassing truth.  He missed his turn to go to Chicago and sell them so he could get back across the Boarder with a nice bag of cash.   They are always in a bag at the police station on Law & Order.  Just before they turn them over to the gun dealer to destroy, but instead he takes the bag back to the hood for a bag of cash.  🙂

But your right........... It is always somebody elses fault....... IF ONLY ISIS HAD DECENT GUN LAWS....
