those good industrial jobs

IN is unique in being at the intersection of both the Big 3 auto companies and the Japanese firms.

In '08-'09 when GM and Chrysler were facing extinction, around here there was a huge collective case of schadenfreude- people were overjoyed that those lucky people who had jobs that were too good were going to get their just desserts.

Like in the southern states that are 100% foreign non-union auto, sentiment was strongly to let the US companies fail.

We want good jobs for Good folk.

Just not too good.
