those good industrial jobs
IN is unique in being at the intersection of both the Big 3 auto companies and the Japanese firms.
In '08-'09 when GM and Chrysler were facing extinction, around here there was a huge collective case of schadenfreude- people were overjoyed that those lucky people who had jobs that were too good were going to get their just desserts.
Like in the southern states that are 100% foreign non-union auto, sentiment was strongly to let the US companies fail.
We want good jobs for Good folk.
Just not too good.
