tread lightly with China
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2016-03-01/death-and-despair-in-china-s-rustbelt
Potential Trump-like "voters" there.
Human nature being universal. A very homogenous population of 1.3B with highly elevated expectations. And many losing out.
A very difficult political and economic transition dead ahead.
While it may have been a mistake to admit China to WTO ("agriculture's" big coup) I'd suggest that caution is advised.

Re: tread lightly with China
We need to get the hell out of the WTO, the referees in that crooked outfit always rule against the US. Agriculture is 1% of the GDP, we could easily have grain price supports and set-a-sides and grain reserves to keep farmers going. Screw China! they only buy from us when it`s too cheap anyway. If we owe them money, ..what is it, $1.5 Trillion??? Big Whoop! Janet Yellan has $4.5 Trillion on the fed`s balance sheet, she could cut them a check and tell `em to pound sand.

good news might be that if your policy prescriptions were followed your estate might fall well below the estate tax exclusion.
Even Bernie's, at $6.5M.

Re: tread lightly with China
if Donald Trump follows the example of Adolf Hitler, he will repudiate foreign debt and replace the dollar with a new currency tied to productivity. Nothing pizzes off the banking class more than not getting their money back....but Donald won't go after the American Jewish bankers this time as he is in lockstep with them, or so it would seem based on his own family dynamics and history.
Those with the most at risk are those that are not productive in America. No nation can have a safety net that can hold the hordes that would want to jump into it, and most productive Americans grasp that....that is why the Trump message of border security resonates so well with the working class , the very ones that the "high info" types posting here seem to despise so much. Those that are currently not producttve and living on the largess of the working members of US society would seem to be the ones to grasp this also.
A Trump vs. Sanders matchup will bring a lot of issues to the top of the boiling pot, and will chart the course for the future of the republic. Trump certainly is not any worse than some of the other pivotal presidents in US history...Old Hickory comes immediately to mind for one.
Pass the popcorn and crack another Corona.

I don`t care what the price of land is, if it goes to $50/acre I won`t sell, if it goes to $50,000/acre I won`t sell. What my networth on paper is, has no bearing how I live my life.

Re: tread lightly with China
I think this money is nothing more than a tool to enslave us, the Rothschilds personally own trillions. It`s about power new world order and it was going so well for them, Bush and the Democrats got us in a never ending cycle of wars, Obama came along and destroyed the country`s morality. Alot of giant leaps towards the NWO have been taken in the last decade. Our debt, assuming we`re foolish enough to honor it is like a millstone around our necks.

Curious about Colonel Sanders
just read that his net worth was $500,000......now you claim that the socialist is worth $6.5 million....what gives here? Is some source figuring the present value of all the $250,000 speeches he is going to make?
Sanderclaus is no Bill Clinton...doubt that he will make much money on the speech circuit.

Re: Curious about Colonel Sanders
What I was saying was that the heinous- German Invasion of Poland- level for Sanders' proposed 0 bracket on inheritance tax is $6.5M (for a couple, $3.25M each).
On income tax, virtually no change for a couple under $200K AGI.

Re: Curious about Colonel Sanders
$6.5 million would be 542 acres of $12000 land.
A huge number of first generational closely held stock corporations in non-agricultural businesses would exceed that number , too.
What is it about taxing the guy that has made more money than you, that appeals so highly to you progressive types.....so much that you want to even tax him when he dies?
Why wait until the guy dies...hey, why not elect a guy like Colonol Sanders that advocates taking it while he is still breathing.
Isn't there something in the old testament about the sinful nature of coveting what someone else has?

Re: Curious about Colonel Sanders
I was wrong, it is actually $7M.
If some (maybe) pail calves inherit $20M they'll have to pay $5M in taxes ($40M if it is a $100M, $550M if it is 1$B).
They may be makers, they may be takers. If they can't make it with those $millions then best to cull them from the herd.
