Re: One of us is failing simple grade school english.
You wrote in your title "Media bias against Bachmann?" You asked the question," Is there media bias against bachman?" Since media is a plural noun, it implies, "is all media biased against her?"

Re: One of us is failing simple grade school english.
Well, go back to English class. There simply is no such thing as "a media". The word "media" encompasses all things that make up the "media"--newspaper, magazines, TV, radio and even the interent. To ask if there is media bias against or for something or someone is asking if all or most of the media outlets are biased for or against the specific thing or person.
