Brazil & India.

  In Brazil, they've run out of sedatives for people on ventilators so they've resorted to tying their hands to the bed to keep them from tearing out the tube.  The P.1 variant is 1.7 to 2.4 times more transmissible and 1.2 to 1.9 times more likely to cause death.  In Brazil, 1 out of 2 showing up to hospital are under 40 without pre-existing conditions.  The vaccine they're using from China is practically worthless against P.1.

  In India with 300,000 new infections per day, 3000 people are dying per day, they are dying in the parking lots of the hospitals, the bodies piling up at the crematoriums, they have run out of oxygen, oxygen is being transported under armed police guard, and they aren't even close to the peak, all because they allowed everything to reopen completely earlier.

  Meanwhile, the second case of P.1 is detected in Manitoba.  Forget the southern border, worry about the northern border.

  This thing is far from over, they should make the final call for the current vaccines and immediately switch to making boosters for those people who are willing to get vaccinated and leave the holdouts to take their chances if that's the way they feel.  We're never going to get herd immunity with their attitude so why bother trying, just save those who want to be saved.
