what would you do

I'm not sure what the requirements are in fence out range but here if someone failed to come get their stock for months I would expect them to pay for board before they'd get the stock back. But that's probably got nothing to do with why these people were targets. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2073248/Local-cops-used-Predator-drone-arrest-North-Dakota-f...

Re: what would you do

Sam, no one knows. If they are kooks they might have said on my land my cows. If that is the case I would either send the law after them or just forget them. 3 calves aren't worth a life. A lot of holes in the story. Will with hold judgement until more facts are known.

more of the story

They were after six cows my ass. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-drone-arrest-20111211,0,324348.story

. A family in North Dakota that were members of the “Sovereign Citizens” movement became in June the first American citizens in history to be arrested with the help of Predator drone aircraft, according to a report published Monday morning. The arrests happened after members of the Brossart family chased off a sheriff looking for missing cows, The Los Angeles Times reported. They did so at gunpoint, so the sheriff called in reinforcements from the state troopers, a regional SWAT team and Grand Forks Air Force Base, which dispatched the remote controlled aircraft. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/12/12/sovereign-citizens-members-arrested-with-help-of-predator-dron...

Re: more of the story

I would think that is a clear violation of Posse Comitatus. US military craft, operated by military personnel. On US soil.

If the taxpayers of a particular state of municipaltiy want a drone, let them pay for it.

Re: more of the story

In the past overseas there were drone operations where the cia owned the drones but the af piloted the missions. I can't tell you that customs doesn't have their own pilots but I doubt it.

Re: more of the story

Who's cows were they and why wouldn't they give them back? If they were my cows and I had been threatened before I would want the law to get them back home. If the government is flying around just because they have guns is inexcusable. May be the law set the cows loose just to have an excuse? I don't know. As I said, I will with hold judgement until there are more facts, if there ever are.
