Really has nothing to do with whiteness- people of all colors and creeds are capable of embracing the principles- in fact they appear to do a somewhat better job of it than many whose ancestors have been here for centuries.
The Age of Reason flowered across N. and W. Europe beginning in the 17th Century, primarily among various Protestant sects. The religious notion that people should learn to read so that they could read the Bible themselves rather than have a priest mumble latin and throw water at them ultimately yielded great fruit well beyond the religious sphere.
The economic and technical progress that ensued led to the radical concept of "no Kings or Popes" and the development of the foundational concepts that led to the founding of our great Representative Democratic Constitutional Republic. The brilliance of our constitution lies in the Burkian nature of it- the Constitution is sovereign but it also allows for limitless flexibility for future circumstances via a prescribed process.
Currently that flexibility has been greatly limited- primarily by the ultra-influential Catholic Monarchist Cult, which contends that the Constitution is set in stone and only they are able to necromance the original meaning of The Founders.
Among the basic American principles is an absolute commitment to universal public education and the logical extension whereby as the people became more able to self-govern, the franchise should be expanded.
