the destruction of all remaining categorical boundaries for understanding behavior: truth and untruth, innocent and guilty, childhood and adulthood, public and private. The destination of all this confusion is a society that can’t process any quarrel coherently, leaving everyone unsatisfied and adrift, and no actual problems resolved.

One element of the story is clear, though. The Democratic party, in the absence of real monsters to slay, has become the party devoted to sowing chaos, mainly by inventing new, imaginary monsters using the machinery of politics, the way the Catholic Church manufactured monsters of heresy during the Spanish Inquisition in its attempt to regulate “belief.”

Re: yep

quite a chilling prediction of where we are headed.

personally I would take law and order over chaos...half the country bit their lips during the 8 yrs of the attempted remake of America by the Kenyan socialist and worked hard for a lawful reversal, but now we are dealing with a movement, the so-called "resistance", with a history already of going outside the restraints of civilized law.

Re: yep

The future is looking worse everyday.  Those who have been indoctrinated by leftist teachers with outrageous statements are acting out on a daily basis.  Will the streets be safe across America?  Those who want to silence any dissent are almost all on the left and those on the left are violent in their efforts.

It was liberals who for years championed freedom of speech but they've been supplanted by leftist who only want their speech.  I'm surprised that Democrats are willing to follow a leadership that is more communist and totalitarian than American and free.  Why would anybody with children and grandchildren want a society that is oppressed by government to the extent that your movement, your job, your income is limited?

failure to communicate

is because we're talking different languages coming from completely different indoctrinations.

Its the enlightenment's individual rights vs. post enlightenment Hegelian - Marxist class/group/collectiviist conflict.

For example one side looks at the kavanaugh/Ford thing as individual accuser vs. and individual accused.  The other sees it as a person from an oppressed class vs. a person from an oppressor class.    Look at Knapp's posts from yesterday.  He doesn't even know he is a arguing as a cultural marxist.   But that is his indoctrination and he can't understand that the only people that need to step up (from my indoctrination) are individuals who have actually commited some crime.

The country and its legal system is based on the enlightenment's individual rights, the battle is over replacing that.

Re: failure to communicate

men need to step up and admit their collective guilt.  Bill Cosby did it, therefore  all men did.

The big question is, if your dna says you're a guy, but your surgeon says your a girl are you still in the guilty class or do you switch to the oppressed.  Or did you poll vault into a more oppressed class?

Why it matters..Kavanaugh Confirmation

Sam, speaking of Knapps earlier, that is an example of a pretty decent simpleton that is more a victim of the left than a leader or deep thinker. If the news media would lead with uplifting stories and truth, Knapp would be back in the fold of decent people quickly, in my opinion.

The people with the agendas, the ones that want to knock down the representative democracy and replace it with a statist totalitarian hades are the ones that merit my disgust.
