500-600# Heifer Value

We are going to be stocking our pastures for spring grazing in the near future.  I am doing some market research to determine a budget and the best location to source from.

What is the current price for 500-600# feeder heifers in your area?

say $118 to $125cwt,   6wts are more towards 115 to 120cwr.   5wts more in the 120 to 127cwt range,   pretty dry for a large area so cattle will be coming off grass all year now,

Should work if your grass is good.... lots of dry country should pressure market for another month at least.

Theres 7 strings of em so far,,,300 to 1400 HD per string,

  happen to get Noah and the Ark to come by and most of em could stay, 

still gonna have to lighten up a few,

Those are good prices (for buyers).  

We are dry here in North Texas as well.  Lakes are much lower than normal.  While we do not have as much grass as usual, we do have enough to graze a few head; but our stocking rate will have to be much sparser this year.
