Grain Hay

I have recrop triticale that im about 2 weeks from harvesting. Considering haying the crop quickly if the hay is sufficiently valuable to feed. The crop is in the dough stage and progressing quickly? 20 bushel grain versus a ton or little better of hay. Im looking for any advice in terms of whether its too late to hay? Does the hay shortage this year make haying this triticale an option?
