Hows the heat affectd you pregs?

We preg checked some of the show herfords yesterday.  NOT GOOD!  THeir all late on their calving dates.  Vet said lots of open beef cows out there, or very short bred.  Wonder if any of you guys are seeing this?

More late than usual, but I wouldn't say more than average open.  Of course, the last couple harsh winters kind of took care of the ones that tended to be open.  Not so much that they lost calves during the winter, but were slow to rebreed back on time.  I thought our cattle were bad, but helped a neighbor move some of his cattle a couple days ago, and just by looking, I'd say 1/4 of his herd calved after June 1st, with 10% under a month old (seems his bulls got in with the cows, and he wondered why, as breeding season was long over).  Most people are like us, though, more late than truly open.  Considering how much we got per head for our late calves the last couple years, I'm tempted to calve everything out in June, if I knew I could keep the neighbor's bulls out.
