Notice that the

  • SAV America 8018 yearling bull brought $1510000 Saturday at St Anthony NoDak.

That was an 80% semen interest, no possession.  SAV kept possession and 20% semen interest.

Herbster, Falls City Nebraska bought the bull.

quite an angus sale.

looks like more of Agri is using the R & D tax credits now.

R & D value of the above is $12.3 mill, And don't forget All your other tax bennies remain to use, like accelerated depreciation, no alternative minimum tax etc..

Re: Notice that the

Lot of money been invested in the cattle venture last few years.

Time to sell fats.

Demand tore down the "wall" of cattle coming last year.  I'm concerned with demand now.

Bigger wall coming.

Maybe the R & D will help?  Unfamiliar with it.

sell the new ranch for an up before the gates sag...include a couple $2 mill kinda Bulls in that sale.

Was in SoDak...bout 1970.

his name was Kazoo...out of the Alberta Jumbo bull and a Columbus Adventure Cow.

Leroy and Ora Erdman raised him.

btw, that was back when a million, WAS a Million too.

actually the best bull at SAVs sale ( MO ) was a Resource sired bull...brought $12k.

a female rancherette bought him.

Re: The 1st , $1,000,000 angus bull

That was money back in 1970.  Was AI practiced back then?

This recent bull bought by the Herbsters (Owners of Conklin Company?), planned for commercial use or are they into show cattle?

Re: The 1st , $1,000,000 angus bull

Yes, Herbster is Conklin.

Yes, there was AI even in the 60s.

Herbster has a lot of decent cattle he has put together.

And he bought North American Breeders...the Semen collection and sales co.

Herbsters sale is coming up, btw.

be April 1, at Marysville KS.

maybe try herbsterangus.com

irregardless he's in Falls City, Nebraska...Charles Herbster Angus.

Re: Notice that the

1   Bull    =  $1,510,000.oo

1000 Fat steers  $1510.oo   =  $1,510,000.oo

1500,   steer calves  x  $1000.oo   = $1,500,000.oo    or

if  you  have  $300.oo  profit  on  5033  head  =  1 Bull   -  what  did  I  miss - ? - maybe  330  cows  calving  for  16  years  -  -   -
