In the last month or so I have been noticing on market reports that there is not much price spread between steers and heifers right now.
I typically figure that heifers need to be 10cwt lower than steers to make them a good buy. Recently many are selling for 5-7cwt lower and sometimes for more than cutting bulls.
What do you think the spread needs to be, and are you seeing the same price trend in your area?
