Re: Tama sale

Definitely not the way I was hoping 2016 would start, but the decline during the first three weeks of 2016 is less than the decline during the first three weeks of 2015.

In the first three weeks of 2015, the market on choice steers dropped from an average of $174.50 cwt to $164.50 cwt.

In the first three weeks of 2016, the market on choice steers dropped from an average of $133.375 cwt to $127.625 cwt.

The drop in price in 2015 was $10 cwt and the drop in price in 2016 was $5.75 cwt, or 5.7% in 2015, and only 4.3% in 2016.

The first day on Spring in March 20, which is only two months from today, and I am cautiously optomistic that the cattle market will increase by then.

Re: Tama sale

With the way everything else is crashing I don't see why cattle will be any different. I think a guy needs to keep them topped out. No incentive to fight the market.
