Alfalfa is going to be interesting. First off much of the upper Midwest had huge winter kill in 12-13 winter with the late spring last year guys didn't have time to replant last spring and crop insurance protocoles didn't allow for planting alfalfa. I think we may be in for a tight year again. That doesn't mean we will see last years prices.

     Doe's it get to late to plant alfalfa and hay,or do they just not have enough man power to get it done when they should?

Best alfalfa field I have, I planted after we got done with corn and beans (into June), just before a nice soaking rain.   However, the later you plant, the less it yields the first year.
