I hope this helps. There are several ways that you might consider using. Microsoft Office Excel can help you keep lists of parts and track purchases, usage, and maintenance schedules. You can also download Libre-Office for free. It works just like Office and you can also create a very simple database. There is also a third way. I develop Filemaker Databases and built one for a friend of mine. He wanted to track maintenance and parts inventory for all of his farm equipment. I created a database that had simple fields that he filled in and he could export to a cvs or excel format. It also had a couple of reports that he could print out. He could track all of his equipment and since he could use it on his iPad he liked the portability. You can use it on an iPhone too. I hope this gives you some ideas on what you could do.
