Drought Tolerant Corn

I've been a skeptic on drought tolerant corn, but here is an interesting article from Illinois.  Our Nebraska and Kansas farmers are probably already up on this.

Most of the drought tolerant (DT) corn had a GMO trait like Bt or herbicide tolerance, but 4/5 of the drought tolerant feature was from conventional breeding, not GMO.

Nebraska and Kansas were the big users but other likely states were about what you'd expect.

Farmers seem to plant DT corn in direct proportion to their drought experience (duh!).

It's worth a read if you are interested in the topic.
