White mold

Last week, I was up in northeastern South Dakota walking my family's soybean field and found there is a white mold infestation on parts of the field.

Ugghhh. Had bits and pieces of it in some years, but think 2009 was the last year it was this bad. Normally, the 20 inch rows my renter plants corn/soybeans in works well, but it combined with August rainfall is really putting the kibosh on yield potential.

Have you seen any white mold in your area? The good news is the corn looks fantastic. Love 20-inch rows for that. Most years, the 20 inch rows work well for soybeans, but unfortunately, wet weather/narrow rows/inoculum in the soil is coming together this year to fuel white mold.
