There's always this illusion in the South that people in the Midwest occasionally average 100 bu/acre in parts of their fields. Is that true of just a myth?

Southwest Missouri. Kip Cullers. 160 bu per acre. And you think the Midwest has some kind advantage? And when your neighbor hits 160 I wouldn't brag about 100.

I've seen 120 on the yield monitor with a 90 dollar fertility program. Avg'd 83 last year across all fields including double crop. 100 isn't as special as it seems, but it gives a warm and fuzzy feeling when your beans are rolling out like wheat!

I don't have a yield monitor. But have had small fields get there. I'm on pretty poor soil. But I've had some each year that isn't worth harvesting. Deer damage may be my biggest yield limit.
