Corn planting
Just saw the first planter in the field this noon. They were running a field cultivator over the field but it still looked fairly sticky. Personal opinion they may be jumping the gun a bit. But, only time well tell. It may work out just fine. Location Clark County, Iowa

Re: Corn planting
There has been a little field work, some NH3, in east-central Iowa. I saw on CRP field disked up. Other than that, very little action. I've been told some floaters are running. It's too wet on my farm.

Re: Corn planting
Planting both corn and beans are in full swing here in central Iowa. We missed the last three rain events and are now "almost afraid to say this" but farmers are now concerned about the top soil getting dry. Plenty of sub soil. Early sweet corn is up. Less that .8" in the last 35 days.
So, here we go, "plant in the dust, the bins will bust."

Re: Corn planting
Still not many planters rolling in eastern Iowa as of the 25th, but field work is progressing rapidly and planting will explode any day now.
