Custom operators
I think I am starting to hate custom operators !!!!!! Kind of a rant I guess . Had custom Round baler operator lined up to finish up last of 1st cut hay or sage brush yesterday......first helped the young man remove three or four ft. of net wrap from shaft where it didn't belong...installed new roll of net wrap. Then he rolled up remains of small field and after that told me he had other work to do and could not do other small field that was ready to go !!
Pouring rain right now and looks to be off and on rain most of morning.
Oh well....Thats the way the cookie crumbles !!!!!!

Re: Custom operators
Ya I hate it too when I have to drive from small field to small field to bale a few bales when there is a big field 10 miles away that I can make alot of bales in a short time... but first come first served.. by the way I got it all done by midnight just before we ended up with 4 inches of rain I would have thought he could have finished yours unless the field was rough and he could not have made good time.
Today I spent yesterdays earnings on parts I could carry in 1 hand. Had to replace the plunger bearings on the small Square baler. 200,000 bales good for another 200,000

Re: Custom operators
Can't complain about my custom baler. He's been "Johnny on the Spot" for me the past few years with nothing but good results. I've had some cover crops I just pay him for his service and we've also got about 50 acres of prairie hay that we've been putting up on shares for the past 3 years.
