Dry Ground
I don't remember such dry ground this time of year. Had 3 trees moved 2 weeks ago and it was dry 3 1/2 ft. down. Buried the wife's favorite cat in the woods yesterday which is usually moist year round and the woods ground was like powder. Is it like this all over?

Re: Dry Ground
It is extremely dry in southern Indiana! Less than 2 inches of rain since July.

Re: Dry Ground
I'm seeing quite a lot of "recreational " tillage going on around here.

Re: Dry Ground
Still dry. Only an inch of rain since Sep. 1st. The fields that have been tilled are awful cloddy. It will take a lot of winter mellowing out on them. The elevator manager said in his almost 40 years there this is the 1st time we've only lost 2 days of harvest to the weather.
