European corn borer

I've been to field days where European corn borer infestations--mainly lack of them--has spurred talk of its demise. Both company and university entomologists, though, advise not to ignore them, as they can survive on a number of plants besides corn.

Have there been any outbreaks in your area? Has it declined to such numbers that you'd ever consider going without a ECB trait? I imagine that a potential outbreak is one of the risks of going with non-GMO corn.

Re: European corn borer

ECB has not gotten much talk in the coffee shop recently, to my knowledge.  But, I'm used to traited corn and would not lightly drop it.  I don't like to handle insecticide.
