How's Planting Going?

I was down by Oskaloosa, Iowa yesterday chatting with a farmer as he was finishing off a field. He said planting was going pretty well despite having almost two inches of rain within the past few weeks. He said he had 600 acres left out of 3,000. Soybeans are up next in a few weeks. Here's a photo of him checking seed depth. We had some rain in central Iowa today, but how's planting going for everyone else out there?

My seed is still in the bag. Woke up this morning to frozen ground. The rain has also kept us out of the field. I hope to be planting corn by Monday. Michigan/Indiana line.

Oats planted Apr. 18...been very cool since with alight shower and few SNOW flurries !!! Should be planting corn Apr. 28-30. This is going to be good early Spring for me up here in the " fringe ".

Hey rawhide, he probably read the lastest report and thought this crop was already in the bin.

LOL Shaggy..yes mine's in the bin too-------from last year  Little things like the picture bother me because all of the media is like that.  Whatever they need for a story--forget about the facts.

nothing planted here, as of yesterday. Just over 8 inches for the month

Planting , manure hauling, bulk spread fert. ,etc. going full bore here in Clark Co. Wi. On the dry side...looks like some rain possible coming week-end.

On personal note....spread bulk corn fert. yesterday...worked in...willplant corn today. Earliest ever start was Apr 24 in 2012 and that turned out to be best corn crop I ever raised. And with drought in I states...best price also !!
