IN Corn Yield check

Finally got out in the field this afternoon - did a pop heck , it came out at 36,000 - Had the planter set at 33764 - Don't know what is going on with that one - Anyway - pulled 5 ears - average around was 14 and they were 34 long - - I used 85 as the divider instead of 90 - t comes out a lot closer most times - even as low as 82 .

The yield average came out to 207 bpa - I was disappointed some - but this field was planted May 22nd - And it was heavy to say the least - It had 29 units put on with the planter and then another 180 at V-5 for a total of 209 units . I have a field with 229 units on it and will check it over the weekend .

Ken....What maturity corn do you plant down there in Paradise ??? Corn appears to be starting to dent. My 85 day planted May 10 still 7-10 days away from early dent.

Difference in growing degree days has got to be Huge......using political language !!!!!! lol

More rain yesterday and this morning.....wanted some awhile back....not so much NOW !!!!!

JCC - That is a 111 day there - It was planted May 22nd - Later planted corn takes less GDD's - maybe as much as 200 or alittle more - What this do's is shorten the grain fill time .
