ISU Fungicide 2015 Research Results

My understanding of this test is that the way to get the most yield is to apply fungicide at V5 and VT-R1.  The best economic return is at VT-R1 alone.

What I don't understand is how you get a negative yield response to fungicide?  What is in fungicide that would ever make it cause the corn plant to yield less, and if there was that chance, why would you ever use it?

For whatever reason. I have seen bar graphs at meetings of university trials and oftentimes, there are negative responses. Don't know why, but I will ask next time I am at a meeting.
