All,

Glad things are going. Saw beans being taken off at a furious clip all along eastern SD into western and central Iowa as I traveled back home yesterday. I walked through a field that had several inches of snow on last week (mine in NE South Dakota) and there are some plants at 45 degree angles, but nothing serious. I was relieved, after hearing reports elsewhere of beans sprouting in the pods. Go get 'em!

SW we have been able to harvest corn on sand ground 4 days this week--sw ks

We got into the beans for two days and sprinkles yesterday drove us back to corn.

We had only three inches through the rainiest and were dry going into it.

Some are done and some still plugging away.  Weather has been good except in spots.  I finished up Monday night.  The soybean lines at Cargill in Cedar Rapids have only been a couple of hours long the last few days.

Had to take a little road trip from Mankato to Rembrandt, IA yesterday.

Went south from Alpha thru Terril and Webb, back north on 71 and 60.

Combines of all colors running, taking some beans but mostly corn.

Grain trucks everywhere,  Quite a bit of tillage remaining to do.

Alot of black holes in fields from all the water this year.

Combines are still rolling between snow events here on the Mi/IN line. The further north into Michigan you go, the worse things get. Lots of corn and beans left to pick. Glad I finished up last week!

I finished 10 days ago, but was up in an airplane Friday and was surprised to see so much corn still in the field around east-central Iowa.

AS of 11 Dec, still some corn out in easter Iowa.  Mostly bottom land or ground that suffered bad wind and is laid over bad.  Almost now beans still out.

Ground finally froze this week and we ran for 60 hours straight. Down crap lucky to move more than 1.1-1.2 MPH. I though the problem would be getting it into the grain tank....not out. All kind of unloading auger troubles, to much packed mud. Another 60 hours would come close to finishing the corn. Depending on how much combine troubles. Never went through so many gathering chains. Still some beans. Look like they might end up going through the dryer. Now all of a sudden we get above normal temps........figures.
