Lexar herbicide

Switching corn chemicals for next year, looking Lexar & was wondering what kind of luck any of you guys have had with it or what you would use instead.

Re: Lexar herbicide

I believe the Lexar is a higher atrazine content form of Lumax..and I have had good results with Lumax. The real bonus..is the increased burndown you get with it if you're using it on no-till. Adding some glyphosate with it..and maybe just a little 2,4-D...and you've really covered everything that might possibly be growing out there. As for it's residual...I'd say it's right on par with the rest of the pre-mixes...they work good if you get the rain to incorporate...but aren't worth a darn if it doesn't rain for 10 days after you apply them.

Re: Lexar herbicide

Used full rate with added atrazine giving 1.5 lbs total/acre pre-emerge and it worked great last year.  Didn't need to follow with a second RU pass.  Same program this year and it failed miserably on controlling late summer grasses and cocklebur.  Pretty wet last year and even more rain this year, but no flooding.   The corn grew very uneven this year and likely this contributed; didn't get good consistent canopy.
