Liquid N applicators
We are setting up a side dress bar for this season. Which is more popular applying on every row or skipping rows?

Re: Liquid N applicators
I have a 6 row planter and 12 row coulter 28% applicator with a 750 gal. tank. I apply the liquid in every row and it works fine.

Re: Liquid N applicators
Thanks guys. Should a person rinse out the system like a sprayer or does it work to just leave the fertilizer in there. We always rinse out the system on our planter but I sometimes wonder why.

mvp -- The Starter -- if you are useing --- say 10-34 - 0 will salt out or crystallize in the winter = thats why you clean it out , as far as 28 it won't freeze and I use it to winterize my sprayer , have done this since the 70's and no problems , lol My spray dealer about crap's his pants that I do this , but why change at my age ?? lol
32 % will freeze !!!!!!! not much of it used in my area = on farm storage
BTW I put it on all rows .

Re: Liquid N applicators
Buckfamer - When i got of college in 76 - I was hired on at a local fert. plant -- back in them days we really didn't have stuff ike RV antifreeze - jus the car stuff , so we wuld use 28 % - now today i run a STS12 nd it takes about 75 to 100 gallons to charge up good . I have good friends that buy RV in 55 gallon drums , the big differene is i do custom spraying and in the fall it can get pretty cold doing fall spraying -- So I just pull up to my 28 tnks and give it a shot and recharge the system -- done in 15 minutes -- lol
If I use the RV I would have to buy it by the tanker load .
Ok know what did you ask ??? oh yeah - I have strainers on the all 7 sections plus the big one comeing out ofthe tank --clean them before I start and then mid season , have not foundany rust in them , If you want to see a sprayer saleman pucker up tight - just tell him you use 28 , lol
