Long term hulless barley seed storage
Question:
We are growing a rare germplasm of hulless food barley this year. I anticipate we will have about 9000 lb, much of which will be used to produce a saleable crop next year. We need to store the remainder of this very pure seed long term in case we need to start the process over in the future ( seed purity assurance). What is the best way to store this type of seed? I need to maintain the germination and keep the bugs out of for several years more than likely.
Thanks in advance.
