Re: Soybean seed pretreated?
You're a little behind on this one. This practice has been growing for years. Some people use it for yield enhancement and others use seed treatments as "insurance" to make sure that expensive seed doesn't have to be replanted due to seedling diseases.

Re: Soybean seed pretreated?
I think the only reason you didn't see a lot of fungicide applied to soybeans in the past..was because Pioneer was expensive enough with their price, and didn't feel they could sell higher priced beans as well. On top of that..they don't like to re-stock or warehouse soybeans that have got fungicide on them..and so if they don't treat them..they can easily tell the dealer to just "dump those last 10 units" in the load going to the elevator....

Re: Soybean seed pretreated?
I am on all beans this year. I saw some test plots last year and it made a believer out of me and the beans I planted last year with the treatment also lead to my decision.

That's the way to go
Finally got all my seed suppliers talked into pretreating and inoculating my soybean seed the way I want them.
The new seed treatments are amazing as well as the new inoculants. Some inoculants can be put on 90 days ahead of planting even with the powerful seed treatments with them, the polymer extenders are that good.
I haven't planted untreated beans for years and don't plan to.
