Strained manure pit water to replace sprayer water
Some are doing it and are happy, the water is acidic enough you don`t need AMS,plus it`s nutrients for foliar feeding. Run it through a 50 mesh strainer twice. Some use it as a popup fertilizer, but I would wonder about it encouraging seedcorn maggots.

No, in North Carolina they were irrigating with raw manure, putting inches on through out the summer. If you put only 20 gallon on spraying, that`s a drop in the bucket, plus it`s strained a couple times. I do know if you open the lid, it has only a faint hog manure odor.

Re: Strained manure pit water to replace sprayer water
sounds more expensive than ams...... The straining and pumping process.
Using a floating skimmer?
Consistency of content issues?
Storage etc?

Re: Strained manure pit water to replace sprayer water
It`s about 50 cents a gallon, so around $8/acre. I can`t remember the exact analysis ….2-1-1?? or something, but you`re applying it foliar so you gain efficiency. Where I picked it up it was a guy with a big hog setup and he stored it in the pits of a old unused hog building. I don`t think any "skimming" is required, you just run it through progressively smaller screens and let it percolate for a few months. But you figure, run 10-15 gal as popup with planter and everytime you run the sprayer across the field post, you use that as a carrier in place of water, it can give you a edge. If you have your own liquid manure, there wouldn`t be much cost other than your time.
