Do we need to get out the hoe and a straw hat?

I wonder if we go back to 7 1/2" rows for instant canopy?
This stuff is not going to get better. It will only get worse. And at these prices, no one is going to spend more than they think they have to on weed control, which means even less chance of controlling weeds.
Is anyone else as pessimistic as I?
