Weeds so far

All,

How is the weed pressure in your fields so far this year? Any weed problems that are really sticking out so far?

Fighting pigweeds in milo. Burndown of gly and dicamba didnt kill them. Gramoxone trip ahead of planter finished them off but preemerge wont hold them. Dicamba and then Husky will be the next two treatments.

Nutlug,

Hope it works out for you. Do you think it was glyphosate resistance in the pigweeds?

Re: Weeds so far

I have volunteer corn in conventional soybeans and intend to go after them in a day or so.  Other than that they are pretty clean so far.  It's late-July/early August that always breaks my heart in soybeans so it's too early too tell.  Many bean fields look weedy.  Corn all looks very clean.

15" soybeans are all canopied, even the late planted ones.  30" rows not canopied yet but closing fast.

Re: Weeds so far

Jim,

I'll keep a lookout for volunteer corn in beans the next couple days when I'm traveling. We had a photo sent to us in our office showing a really bad field with volunteer corn in soybeans. Don't know if that's typical or not.
