Re: Will we EVER warm up!!!!!!
JCCWIS,
I was just north of Des Moines here a few miles, so that's not representative of what's going on in a very large area. But the stand looked really ragged, and it's been downright chilly at nights and cool during the day. Pretty yellow corn, too, as you describe.
Then again, I saw the forecast for next 10 days in central IA were highs in the mid-to-low 80s, almost up to the optimum 86-87 degree temp for growing corn. Wonder if it will be a repeat of last year? Guess fill the bins and batten down the price hatches if we have that kind of weather again this year.

Re: Will we EVER warm up!!!!!!
Much the same here with cool temps . it has been this way threw all of May - Corn stands - to me over all look very good to me - in my area - some yellowing , but not bad , the problem may come down the road with this thou - A lot went in in some pretty heavy dirt - Indy was ?? Like 2 or 3 inchs below norm on rainfall and we were near normal here = 4 or so inch's , the problem was not goose drowners - but a half here , and a few days later a couple of tents - just enought to keep us out . Beans looks like ---t to me , they just can't get going - Mine was done on race weekend - Last year - I started on May 4th - then had cool , wet weather then throw in a frost as they were coming threw the ground - ended up replanting everything but 120 acres - the replant was near May 16 or so - there was a 13 bpa cut in the replant - I talked to Shaun Casteel at Purdue - said they seen the same thing and it was the biggest hit from later planting date times he had seen .

ECIN,
Ouch! Hope you get some warm temps soon. Raining again here today, although 10-day forecast here in central IA looks a lot better.

Here in Central MO, Sunday's forecast showed, sunny and upper 60's for Monday, sunny and 70's for Tuesday, sunny and 80's for today (Wednesday) and sunny and 80's for Thursday. Only sun I have seen was yesterday evening for an hour or so. Mid 60's and raining right now. Forecast now is rain for the next 4 days. Patrick
