accelerating corn yield trend
Totally anecdotal from my own experience.
Highest yield that I've ever achieved on a decent sized field was in 1994 using P3394, 259 bpa.
About as perfect weather as you could ever get and I don't know if I did everything right but I didn't do anything wrong.
Pop of 28K, fairly aggressive for those times. Good weed control, no fungicide or insecticide- the mutant rootworm problem didn't come to our area until the next year.
And of course everybody planted tons of 3394 the next year and it got smoked by GLS.
Just ineresting to ponder.
