Re: dry fertilizer storage?
Many that I know of are building ( Hoop Barns )
and getting a brokers license to buy direct off the river.
They are also installing Vertical Fertilizer blenders and setting up to do their own spreading.
Some have enjoyed the savings for many years now.

Re: dry fertilizer storage?
For a brokers license contact the Ohio ag department and go from there.
the cost is minimal.
Savings
it depends on what you are paying now. and whom you are buying from.
But most say they are saving $50. Plus a Ton.
And many think their investment will be returned in 2 seasons of doing their own work.
In my opinion. You would be a candidate if you farm the acres to already have several employees.
And if you have a fleet of trucks and do your own trucking.
Just my opinion from years of observations.
I have seen farmers, brokers haul from Gary and Evansville Indiana.
Toledo and Cinci. Ohio.
Pittsburgh and Saint Louis over the past 40 plus years.
