You guys get in the field yet? good luck. I wish we had some of your rain. I'm reluctantly applying nh3 but wonder about the very dry conditions here.

Re: hey, nwobcw
...Tried some soybeans this afternoon at about 3...tested 17.5...I think I would have kept going at 17...but the ground is just soggy too, and another day wouldn't hurt. Of course..it's supposed to shower tonight so maybe I should have just run them.

Re: hey, nwobcw
I wish! Had 5 1/2" of rain in 9 days here. Even a wet snow storm blow thru here last Thursday at 5PM. More in the forecast for today. There is some water standing in the combine tracks of where I did get some combining done 2 weeks ago today and tomorrow. All in all: not looking good at all.

Re: hey, nwobcw
My guy says it really seems stupid to lay tile in the ground when the soil is dry enough that your shoes don't get muddy at the bottom when you are making connections.

Yes, I'm binning the beans..and have low temp dryers on them..with plenty of air. Got my first present in the breakdown department yesterday too. Made one round in the field...parked the combine overnight..and the right rear tire went flat...LOL.

Don if you've lived in nia long enough you know that it only takes about 4 hours to get wet in this country. one of the few undisputable constant for us is... it rains in iowa in the springtime. we hope to start tiling by this weekend.

Re: hey, nwobcw
Only had enough rain to wet the pavement yesterday...will give the beans a try today. Don't know if they're going to be dry enough..but the propane tanks on the bins have been full for two years...maybe I should use some of it up...LOL.
