NW, Pupdaddy good luck. There should be a lot of harvesting in this region being done in the next couple of days.

Pupdaddy might be but it's too soft for me. I almost stuck the Bobcat today filling a hay feeder, and it has steel tracks on it.

Re: hey, nwobcw
I finished last Saturday. Tuesday of this week I was sawing up and burning ash trees that had fallen into a field from a creek running thru a rented farm. The 1st raindrops fell about 11 am. By the time it was over early Wed. we had 3" of rain. The weatherman had predicted 3/4". We sure are lucky here. 95% beans done. 30% of the corn may be unharvested yet but there wasn't that much planted here to begin with. I did absolutely no fall field work. No spraying, maunure spreading, fertilizer spreading, or tillage.

Re: hey, nwobcw
I watch the ohio valley weather and it looks like rain every 3 days for you guys.It absolutely will not rain (in any appreciable amounts here, but winter is a good time for a drought. me and my neighbor have been installi ng field tile in between other jobs. that's gone fairly well, except for issues with our satellite differential signal. we did hook into a 16" main that had a small stream of water. our motto is we're slow, but we do mediocre work. all fall tillage, fert app., nh3, manure, is done here. HUGE amounts of tile put in everywhere. Have a good thanksgiving.

Re: hey, nwobcw
Wow I don't think I have ever seen a 16" main. 8" is the norm for 40 acres, 6" if you have enough fall. Last night the weatherman predicted the warmest Thanksgiving since 1990. Ha It's 39 with a predicted high of 45. Quite a change in less than 12 hours. I'm just southeast of Toledo. It must be hard to predict the weather here lately. If the ground doesn't freeze out good this winter next spring will be a nightmare. Happy Thanksgiving

Re: hey, nwobcw
Nice. We're so lucky to be farmers. we get more time off than anyone! A little over a week ago we had a 90 and 100% chance of rain. got none. last night we had about a quarter inch. windier than heck.
