Re: high winds
Dakotas and western MN are forecasted to get wind gusts into the 55 - 60 mph range.
The wind will subside this evening so nothing like the sustained day after day winds you folks have had to deal with.
If I happen to catch a page or 2 of the Aberdeen, SD paper flying by I'll mail it to you.
Hope it's the Style section - that's usually pretty interesting.

Re: high winds
60 mph winds would blow corn over around here with our weak stalks. 45mph here today with low humidity. Beans will be finished in this "neck of the woods" this week. Corn drying fast.
The story I have heard out of Kansas is "that if your hat blows off don't chase it, just catch the next one that comes along"

Re: high winds
Just what I was thinking Wind...
I been back on the sprayer for a few days fertilizing some irrig. corn ground going back to wheat. I follow the disc doing the first chop and he rediscs behind me with the drill on his tail...
Anyway I see just what you said. Normally need both discing trips just to get good stand of wheat, but this time this stuff is disappearing.. Flimsy stalks and no green left. Harvested 4 days before... lots of moisture this year maybe.....
76 we were hot and dry like july in Sept and got all the early planted corn out of the field nearly dry 16% range. the last two weeks have given a couple of nece rains and humidity and low 80's for highs,, absolutely beautiful. Absense of wind is unnerving 🙂
We know it is coming....
