Re: Are you marginal yet?

Postage is supposed to cover all the costs of delivering the mail. It is not supposed to depend on tax revenue, unlike numerous other programs do. If you are going to complain about the cost of doing business, why is it always the government that gets the blame? Package delivery by UPS or FedEx for an individual costs more than for a large business yet I haven't hear the uproar about their prices. Maybe because you don't see them everyday, They are probably hidden in the prices you pay for everything though.

Re: Are you marginal yet?

I see a lot of just in time shipments done do to the fact that someone forgot to do their regular job--then has to "re-lie" on overnite to cover up the undone task--been there -done it myself

Re: Are you marginal yet?

Kraft back in the real world USPS is broke!  I do not care if it goes to 1 dollar a stamp. I use less stamps all the time. I pay my electric bill, cell phone, property taxes, license, the list goes on and on that I pay online.   I really don't need stamps except for My succesful farmiong magazine and a few others.   The reality is that large packages are the ones which we need to have shipped most frequently. I send birthday cards, and many other correspondance with online services my need for the PO is very minimal.  Buit if you want to start a benefit I sure won't mind! HE HE

Meanwhile we keep a foolish tradition for the sake of someones fond memories. STOOOOPID!

Re: Are you marginal yet?

I still use USPS priority mail for $5 to get documents to our accts. receivable dept---get overnight service out of Nebraska to Minneapolis--UPS is $12-$14---when a transaction tax is put on E-billing I can hear the ranting already--bet ya $5 it's in process---if you believe some thing is FREE--might think again-it will change "free" into" fee"----quicker than you think ! !

Re: Are you marginal yet?

It's cheaper than $5 if you use click n ship at www.usps.com. Print out the label with free delivery confirmation and drop it in any mail box. No waiting in lines or going during business hours. You can do it all on the computer.

Re: Are you marginal yet?

Like most items being put on the table for cost containment---one needs to realize that if something is out sourced it usally isn't long and the sevice will dissapear--

Re: Are you marginal yet?

he USPS is like every other business. It costs more money to deliver today than it did yesterday. You want dramatic changes including diminished services for those that do use it.

You claim you are using it less and less, So it must cost you less. What is your objective. Poorer service saving money for what reason? You don't use it anyway.even though the service is costing you nothing if you don't use it. You aren't paying for it anyway.

Would oit bother you if the UPS driver was making a 100K?  Or is a it just government em[ployees that stick in your craw?

We choose not to break tradition because there is no obvious reason to break tradition.
