Re: Custom hauling charges
Not an option there are 3 outfits in this area that haul to the elevator they get together and decide the price for the year trying to find another option loading speeds are not a factor in this area

Re: Custom hauling charges
I'm getting 45 cents a 100 lb hauling apples on a flatbed right now. Moving anywhere between 10 and 20 miles to different orchards. 1100 bu grosses about 88k pounds. Nets 250 bucks a load and thats running heavy. 5 loads a day is pretty good beer money though!

Re: Custom hauling charges
Found outthe excuse why prices are high they blame the wait at the elevator for the 360 a load they get. Nothing i can do about it other than shop around found someone that will ship for 28 a bushel. Longcereek since a bushel is 56 pounds you are hauling for .25 cents a bushel more or less

Re: Custom hauling charges
Corn is 56. Apples are 42. Only getting paid for fruit weight as well. The 10k lbs of wooden bin weight gets hauled for free.
