Doctor (the Quack) Oz -- Say's NO to GMO'S

I was talking to a good friend oer in IL. this morning - He asked id I had watched Doctor Oz yesterday  - What ? Me watch Oz - This is a working farm and don't have time to watch BS Shows like Oz - Smiley Wink

Anyway - he went on to tell me that Oz had a show on GMO'S and to say No to them - you should eat Organic - But it was also about the labeling on the food .

Doctor  Went off  the wall about how much we spray on are crops - even had a small hand sprayer - spraying all over this board - saying that's what we do . He said that since we have gone to more GMO's that we have gone from using a million tons of pesticides to 100 million pounds - Now ken wonders - were did he get those numbers ?

I Don't care if they label it GMO' or not - But to down grade the Farmers that we are more or less poisoning peoples food verus the great do gooders ( Non GMO's ) then he FOS in my book .

One question here - Where the heck is the National corn growers Ass. And Soybean People when this BS hits the TV's ?

One last thing - Doctor Quack a good way to avoid GMO's was to NOT but nothing that has corn or soy in it

Hope this works - My computer is on it's last leg - but here's the link to Doctor Oz show

It's all over Facebook today.   Ag.  Bloggers are taking the DR on.    My opinion is:  When has the Dr.   EVER allowed any one to present the other side in anything controversial?    Dr.  is nothing more than an informercial who gets someone else to pay his for his advertisements.

He wouldn't let  anyone from the Corn Growers,  Americian Soybean Association,  Farm Bureau or any other group, on his show.     His wife was the Chr. of trying to pass GMO labeling in California last year.

He's nuts. He had a psychic on and it made me laugh. I can't believe he believed the performance.

His visual reps of what is going on don't make sense. I don't see why you need to make some stretch analogy to tell me something when you can straight up tell me what's going on.

He's nuts. Can't control other people though, only yourself

I can still remember what happend to the cattle market when Oprah said American beef wasn't safe. I'll hate that woman the rest of my life. Man that was hard. It's the first time I've called her a name that didn't start with b.

She's also crazy. She thinks homeopathic medicine works, among other things.

This is what happens when we listen to people that we may like but aren't actually experts in what they are talking about. Because people like her so they overlook her lack of qualifications. Worse off, a lot of these crazy talk shows don like to take a hard stance on what position is the correct one, and oftentimes they put ridiculous theories beside good ones as if they have equal merit. It only broadens the talkshkws appeal. This isn't public school: not every opinion is worth listening to. There are dumb questions and answers.

The problem is, if you try to challenge someone's beliefs, you are most likely will not have any friends or incite people to harbor antagonistic thoughts against you. So, the best way to broaden your appeal is to say nothing and do no confronting. The truth just is unbearable for most people.

Perhaps the best example is where I challenged the existence of god in the marketing forum briefly, and bf2012 replied with intimidation instead of an actual argument. He got 2 kudos for it, so it's easy enough to find. He had no merit, just an appeal to a popular belief on this forum.

Most people are governed by their emotions, fears, and self needs, and it's very hard to change people's minds once they have strong emotions about their beliefs.

Wouldn't you think most pesticides are used on fruits and vegetables? Have you ever been to California? Do you have any veggies grown in your area? The potatoes in our area get sprayed at least fifteen times.
I'm not a GMO fan. We are putting genes from different species into plants. And FDA said they were safe. Not because they tested but just because they are safe. That might be true but it might not be. This is not just plant breeding. Which nature does all the time. It's mixing species which rarely if ever happens in nature.
