EPA Land Grab

Anybody heard much about BO recent legislation to control most all water in the country

Sorry: no link, but I magine you could gogle it

Hope you flks can get congress to take this seriously and stop Bo

Texas is aware of hat is hapening

The reason I mention this is because what ever you folks do

Seems a few yrs lateer our canadian gov't thinks we should do the same

This is very serious for anybody and everybody, even if your ground is covered with cement

Basicaly the EPA rules your land, which is not right or fair

Just a land grab for control

Re: EPA Land Grab

Check out my post "I hate it when I'm right" below. The EPA-idling of priductive farm acres is underway in America. We find oirselves ironically promoting energy independence and undermining food security in the same fell swoop. Madness!

Re: EPA Land Grab

It's " Stony Creek". I had that village in the neighbiring county as my address until I was married, and moved to this farm. We have a mile or so of it along the edge or into the periphery of this place, which shiwed in one old will as " my creek plantation".

We haven't been told where it is coming from, except that it is from a farm niirtheast of DeWitt. That is so nebulous as to be obscuring in its description. I know it's not us.

Nice of you to notice, though. If you ever see the followup, please let us know.

Re: EPA Land Grab

Having a creek in our properties used to be a positive as youth activities was a summer time enchantment  -  that has all went away the last decade - part of progress I am told ---

Re: EPA Land Grab

Stony Creek is safe in parts, unless you get a heavy rain.. Then, it becomes auite dangerous...two boys drowned not far from us when our own kids were young.

i have seen water marks way up the banks, high on trees, from flash flooding. There were warnings there last night...but, some of the watershed got 4.5 inches in the span of a couple hours at most. That much dilution is the real solution?.it had been droughty for several weeks, when the discharge was noted.

Re: EPA Land Grab

It really is an ironic story, when you start asking questions oocally, and then call the DEQ and ask, " What is in our creek?"

Keep in mind that this is the county that wouldn't sign off on the DEQ permit for our hog farm expansion in 1993, which was why we ended up in NC. Now, someone is playing CYA for corn syrup dlurry and manyre, emanating from a hog wallow ( or, possibly more than one) into a swamp that feeds a tributary, that fouls the creek.

I asked what it is and where it came from, hiw many hogs are involved...and, the pnumber is mlre than a family's subsistence herd. No telling how long it will take to flush out, no telling how manpy agencies soending how many tax dollars....really ironic. Our mile of creek frontage ruined fir however long it takes for "dilution to be the solution".
