A good friend of mine is in the lawn care business - a few years back - there was a new product out they were promoting hard - can't remember the name of the chemical- Imprilis ???  - think it was made by Dupont - but anyway - it worked to good - it killed dang near every evergreen tree in the lawns it was sprayed on = some BIG bucks from Dupont - he told me that a tree like the one in my picture would be around  $12,000 - Plus there would clean up costs - you name it -

76 is right - that tree has been there a long time - Its not like when they put the pool in that someday there would be a problem - But then again , City people move out here then think they own the county - as the case with both owners .

If I was a beting man - I would say that the tree trimmers had better have some deep pockets -

Obvious to me they trespassed and destroyed private property. 

The tree trimmers need long handled shovels to replace their chainsaws and a corresponding New careers as they need to dig up a tree of a simular size and replace the one in the picture.

The dude that ordered that is just a common criminal and should be treated as such. After a large $ payment

He should be required to live in a lower apartment somewhere with only a brick/cement wall as a view.

I find it hard to believe that professional tree trimmers would be foolish enough to do something like that without getting the ok from the tree's landowner.  Makes me wonder if the trimmers were non-professional guys working for beer.  Or maybe working under the influence of beer.  Especially so since they simply piled the limb around the trunk.  Chances are a professional would have shredded the limbs, cut the trunk off and hauled everything away.  I'm sure that after the smell of freshly cut evergreen fades away, all involved will be smelling a lawsuit on the way.

I actually asked him if he wanted to go over and speak to them.  Said calling the sheriff would cost him his tenant.  His reply was an (expletive deleted) NO!

We have been so happy down there since their move.  I think we will be better off without that money, and fewer aggravations.  You can only drink so much, before there is a cost associated with that, too....

That tree is a sad deal...

It is way too close to the property line and probably didn't realize it as it wandered around the yard...

It makes a great "discussion" example as we work through the process of "what would I do"......

I got a feeling the picture of the current tree "condition" is a good representation of the personalities of the two property owners.....

How would you like to live between these two?  You'd end up feeling like that tree looks.....

Not many people understand the virtues of solitude as well as a farmer does. Getting back onto my old tractor a while back, spending all sat without hearing a telephone ring or having someone to deal with at the door, was golden.

You would never believe the thinking I got done, in just a couple of days of hay raking....

And now its time for - 'AS The Tree is Trimed '  Man talk about small U.S.A . gossip central - lol  The  Talk now is that the tree that got the hair cut - may very well  indeed ---- Be on the property of the home owner that cut it in the first place !  

The owner of the tree do's not live there - the property is called the Depot - it was a business ,  that sold years ago - to the present owner to home school her chidren in - this to me has got stupid -  No give and take what so ever !!!!  sw hit the nail on the head !  As I said - I don't know either owners - but do know one of there  dads  - and he always was above everybody else , if you know what I mean - guess she got it honest - lol

Wonder when we will see the survey stakes ?

Even if a person had a legal right to,  that's got to be borderline "Conifer" abuse....

In the new age we live in tree abuse is going to carry a serious penalty.  Especially to an evergreen......

I propose new laws to repress and guide us poor souls.................

       1.  Register ownership and regulate usage of chainsaws...License operators

                1a. Give free tuition to all men to attend chainsaw training academy.  Course materials must include at least 6 hours of tree sensitivity training.....  And another 6 hours of creative tree sculpting......... Again men only..... teenagers are restricted and of course women are just too competitive for such activities...

      2.   Implement strict muzzling and leash laws for trees within 30 feet of a point of ownership change.....

      3.  Require sound reducing moss for control of tree bark in the neighborhood....

      4.  Hold neighborhood vigils for this martered tree and an annual plastic wreath to be placed at a memorial sight to be named "the Toumb of the unknown Conifer"  preferably to be located anywhere at least 200 miles away from the Texas A & M football stadium..

Survey stakes for the ranger station to be built in that driveway to see that such a travesty never happens again.....and of course to serve the visiting morning public ........ which will get coffee, dounuts, and free access to the famous pool now designated as a public park.....
