One more reason I dropped the hogs. I figured it was a matter of time before it became mandatory, with untold compliance expenses. I just wasn't prepared to take that leap. I'm still willing to bet that in my lifetime, fall fert application is going to be regulated.

It already is in Lewis  & Clark  NRD district---except for liquid manure---

In my area, there have been some farmers that did strip tilling with NH3 and Phos. but most had not.  Rainfall has not been excessive so I don't think there is much concern for now.

as long as soil temps stay below 50 degree is slows degradation of the fertilizer, with all the rain though, that could be moving this stuff down.
