Grass pellet production technology
- The most critical technology for grass pellets production is to adjust the moisture content of the raw materials. First, the user need measure the moisture content of the raw materials ,and then adjust it according to the moisture requirements. According to measurements, the best water content is 14%-16% for legume forage ,gramineous forage is 13%-15%.
- The processing of grass pellets usually uses grass pellet machine. The grass powder is subjected to stirring and squeezing during the rolling process. Under normal circumstances, the temperature of the pellet just emerging from the sieve is about 80°C. When cooled from high temperature to room temperature, the water content is reduced by 3% to 5%. Therefore, the moisture content of the cooled grass particles does not exceed 11% to 13%.It is suitable for long-term storage without moldy deterioration Due to its low water content.
- The processing of grass materials can be formulated into grass pellets with different nutrients according to the nutritional requirements of various livestock and poultry. The particle size can be adjusted by the mold of feed pellet machine.
Ingredients of grass feed pellet
In order to produce compound feed for various livestock and poultry, improve the utilization rate of feed. The farmer can use grass powder (green hay, crop stalks) 55%-60%, concentrate (corn, sorghum, oats, bran, etc.) 35%-40%, minerals and vitamins 3%, and urea 1% to form a compound feed. The materials is pressed into pellet feed by the feed pellet machine. When pressing, add 17 kg of water per 100 kg of material and add 100 ml of 37% formaldehyde solution to improve its nutrient content and digestibility.
According to the experiment, the 8-month-old lamb was fattened with pellet feed for 50 days, and the average daily weight gain reached 190 grams. For every 6.4 kilograms of feed was consumed increase 1 kilogram of weight . The application of grass pellet feed to produce fat lamb is a feasible way to promote the development of aquaculture whether in pastoral or agricultural areas.
