Half of all food is wasted...

...according to a recent report issued by a British think tank  Two billion metric tons of all the food produced annually goes unconsumed.

This waste is deemed due to different factors in different places.  Underdeveloped cpuntries lack proper storage and trabpnsportation.  Countries like the US waste a lot due to policies like overly strict  "sell by" dates, as well as consumer focus on cosmetically perfect food.

Very interesting article on the front of Feedstuffs this week.  What does this say for the future of farming?  If other factors could be mitigated, woild we be in a world surplus position for food supply?
