I was pretty sure you had to harvest to document yields for insurance, unless younger a waiver by the adjuster. Crop hail damage to tobacco can result in a plowing under of the standing crop, but 100% losses are not typical, in my experience.

  Thanks for the explanation.  If I could get my crops off for 25 bucks an acre and I'd even haul myself.

a typical charge to harvest wheat last summer was 3 "21's"   This means $21/acre plus 21 cents per bushel over the first 20   bushels per acre  plus 21 cents per bushel on all bushels for hauling to the elevator.   So a 20 bushel /acre wheat crop would cost  $25.20 per acre while a 60 bushel crop would cost 441.00 per acre cut and hauled.

Whoops, that is supposed to be $41.00/acre, not 441
