Farm leases must be terminated before 1 September in Iowa or they may extend to the next crop year.
What are you hearing? Are tenants or landlords sending any registered letters in your area?
What do you hear about rents? Are they going up, down or staying flat?
Are landlords in your area writing stewardship clauses into the leases, or is it all just about the money?
Are leases straight cash, do they have some kind of bonus or incentive package, are they crop share, or what?
Leases around me tend to be more and more straight cash and often have stewardship clauses or at least stewardship expectations. I have heard of some that stayed level last year, some went down, and some even went up. I can't see any going up this year.
